Another leap of faith – North meets south

Maori Football NZ (MFNZ) delegates from Auckland traveled down to Christchurch to support MFNZ Te Waipounamu kaiwhakahaere (South Island Development Officer), Robbie Hawkins with his work with Nomads United FC and his increasing interactions with the Mainland Football Federation.

Attending the MFNZ presentation were club delegates and a special appearance from Mainland Football’s Chief executive, Julian Bowden.

Maori Football NZ Chairman Phillip Pickering-Parker said excellent conversations and very positive synergies were clearly present.

‘We are very pleased and impressed with Robbie’s connectivity to his community and his huge passion for sport, culture and young people.

“He’s a great resource and a very valuable addition to Maori Football NZ.

“This connection connects MFNZ to the South Island and there will come a day where north will meet south in a match of some sort.”

MFNZ now turn their focus to the Aotearoa Women’s (MAURI) clash against Auckland CROATIA on Saturday 22nd September.
