The first of its kind, Māori Football is proud to continue the Nouth vs South domestic showcase taking place in January 2023. In partnership with local and national sporting organisations, this annual national series will be played in Auckland with U18 and U16 boys and girls teams competing.

This event also features the Akokura Football Festival on 24 January, bringing together the whole community and promoting football in the area.

Clash of the Cultures

International Football Series

The third edition within the international series, Māori Football is excited to represent Aotearoa against Australia’s First Nations in the Trans-Tasman Clash of the Cultures. Partnering with local community businesses and Papakura City FC, this event showcases the best talent Aotearoa has to offer on the international stage.

This event also features the Akokura Football Festival on 17 January, bringing together the whole community and promoting football in the area. Come down and join us for haka, special presentations, football fun for the whole family and plenty of food and drink to share!

The Akokura Football Festival is an initiative by Māori Football to promote football in at the community level. We bring together families, children and players of all ages and abilities – uniting communities through football.

Māori Football host Festivals regularly throughout the year, and typically surrounding our national and international events. Festivals are promoted all across New Zealand.

Age groups typically involved range from U6 to U13, but are defined per event.
