Whakapapa is what makes us Māori
Registering is the first and most important requirement for any person wishing to begin their journey with Māori Football and be involved in our trials and team selection processes. Becoming a registered member also means we can notify you of upcoming events and trials, and better support you with funding and grants.
Registration Process
The registration process is straight forward but can take some time if you don’t have all the information on hand.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you:
- Register with your iwi (find your iwi here).
- Complete the registration form on this page.
Upon clicking Submit, you will see a confirmation message that the player has been successfully added to our official player database. Please take this as confirmation that we have received your registration. - Māori Football will then only send you email notifications for upcoming campaigns relative to your player criteria (i.e. age, gender, etc). We will not email you to confirm your registration.
Don’t have an iwi number?
Insert as much information as you can. Attach any supporting documentation you have available, and tick the “I need more help” box before submitting.
Don’t have an iwi registration number?
We understand not every iwi supplies a registration number or some may have increased difficulty in getting registered. We can help you with this process.
- To complete your registration, enter your Iwi and “MFA-000” into the Iwi Number field.
- Upload any documentation you have in the field at the bottom of the form – this could be a scanned letter, a saved email, or a signed document from your iwi.
- Tick the box “I need help with my iwi registration” before tapping Submit.
- Click Submit.
