Defining North and South
Players must choose to be affiliated with either North or South teams. Players can choose whichever they feel is most representative of them, but our default definitions are as follows:
“North” consists of players hailing from New Zealand’s top 3 football federations – Northern Region Football (NRF/NFF/AFF), WaiBOP Football, and Central Football.
“South” consists of players from New Zealand’s bottom 3 football federations – Capital Football, Mainland Football, and Football South.
Registration, ID camps and trials
Any player can register as long as they can prove their whakapapa — which is what makes us Māori. This can be through iwi registration or alternative methods which we can support players with.
Players will be required to start the registration process with Māori Football in order to get started. Part of the trials and squad selection process, players will then be invited to ID camps held in their area.
Information on ID camps, trial dates and locations for each team will be communicated throughout September. Get started by selecting your team below.
Sponsorship opportunities
Partnership and sponsorhip opportunties with international and national visibility
