He Pānui: Share Your Story with Māori Football Aotearoa

PAPAKURA, Tāmaki Makaurau – Every jersey has a whakapapa. Every boot has a journey. Every Māori in football carries a story worth telling.

Māori Football Aotearoa is calling on our whānau across the motu and beyond, from players, coaches, referees, volunteers, fans, and kaumātua, to share your stories or story ideas with us.

Whether you’re a rangatahi just starting out, a parent who’s supported your tamariki through the highs and lows, a club stalwart who’s kept the lights on, or a trailblazer who’s broken barriers, we want to hear from you.

Your kōrero might be about:

  • A moment that shaped your football journey
  • A tūpuna who inspired your mahi
  • A team that became your whānau
  • A challenge you overcame
  • A dream you’re chasing

We’re building a living archive of Māori football stories, past, present, and future.

These stories will help us celebrate our people, inspire our rangatahi, and protect the legacy of Māori in the beautiful game.

How to share
Send us a message or email with your story, or just an idea you’d like us to explore.

You don’t need to write it all, just reach out and we’ll walk alongside you.

Let’s make sure our voices are heard, our journeys remembered, and our legacy recorded.

If you have photos, audio or video to go with your story, please share it with us.

Ko wai mātou? Ko koutou katoa.

We are Māori Football Aotearoa and your story is part of ours.
